About us...
We have owned Australian Shepherds for over 30 years and couldn't imagine having another breed. They are smart, loyal and fun to own. They are also energetic and require alot of work and attention. Our first Aussie - Bandit - was out of championship bloodlines and was ASCA registered. He was an amazing dog and we were lucky to have him for 13 years.
We searched for years to find high quality dogs for our farm. We are not a show kennel but a working farm and we do very limited breedings. If you are interested in a puppy - please contact us with the details and we can put you on our watch list.
**Exciting news for the farm** We got new bloodline dogs for the farm in the summer of 2022. Working dog lines from Pincie Creek and Ironside! Tang, Boo and Nettie have settled in and we love them - see more info on them below! If you know the history of the Aussies, there are some bloodlines that are legendary - and these dogs have them all.... Hangin' Tree, Osceola and Reddy Teddy just to name a few. We decided to invest in the legacy that started the breed and these dogs have brought something completely different with their breeding.

Pincie Creek Mustang ("Tang")
We were fortunate to get a Pincie Creek dog and this guy is gorgeous. He's double registered AKC (DN71108703) and ASCA (E227139) and his bloodlines are STELLAR. He's a goofy teenager right now but he is beautiful. He's a red merle and is almost 100% merle. Looking forward to what he will bring to our breeding program!

Boatwright's Great Oaks Gus
When you think of a beautiful black tri, Gus is the man. He's got a big full colllar and lots of copper. But the best thing about him is demeanor - he's big, but he's gentle and always ready to greet you on the porch when you come in. He was born June 12, 2018 and we got him from Ramblin Ridge Australian Shepherds in Ruffin, NC. He's double registered ASCA (E206985) and AKC (DN54106301).

Lasrocosa Rusty Nail at River's Edge
We had been looking for a long time for an ASCA registered red tri male - and were lucky enough to finally find Rusty at River's Edge farm out of Little River, SC. Born January 2009 so he's the senior citizen on the farm. He's double registered with ASCA (E165526) and AKC (DN23780702) and is one big (and pretty) boy! He's got a rich russet coat with a full white collar and amber eyes. He's got a quiet, laid back personality and a sweet, inquisitive face. Love him!

Great Oaks LaKota
Great Oaks Lakota - or just Kota - was one of our first litter at the farm. She's out of Rusty and Indie and was born February 2015 (Her litter name was "Fergie"). She's an AKC registered (DN42066907)red merle with one half green and half blue eye and one green/amber eye. It's been a great experience having a puppy from birth. Great markings and a great personality! She is HIGH energy - and lives to chase cows (or chickens....or anything).

Great Oaks Katie Scarlett
Katie is our "keeper" out of the June 2015 litter by CoCo and Rusty (litter name "Blue"). She's double registered AKC (DN42994604) and ASCA (E192992). A great looking blue merle with brown (not amber) eyes and lots of copper and black. She's got a very gentle demeanor and gets along well with ALL our dogs. She likes to "hug" your hands when you pet her - adorable!

Great Oaks Stevie Nicks
This little girl was the one we just couldn't let go out of the spring litter of Indie and Gus (her litter name was Callie). She's petite and cute and a total water bug. Since she was old enough to reach, she was in the water bucket and she stays in the pool now. She's got her dad's color and her mom's build and is a beautiful girl! She's AKC registered (DN57407303)

Great Oaks Jolene (JoJo)
Pincie Creek Nettie
We got not one, but TWO Pincie Creek dogs (how fortunate was that!?!?!?). Nettie's bloodlines are impeccable and her drive was evident the minute she stepped foot on the farm. She's a smaller dog with a striking split face. A gorgeous dark red female with real focus and personality. She's double registered AKC (DN71108803) and ASCA (E227140) and is truly something special.

Ironside Little Boat ("Boo")
Boo came to us all the way from Ironside Ranch in Arizona. We wanted a solid black dog and she's that (well, with two tiny white spots on her foot). We called her a "pocket puppy" for ages because she was the smallest in her litter and was tiny for a long time. She's still a smaller Ausssie but takes no guff from any of the others. Double registered AKC DN72402204) and ASCA (E228476) and has some amazing names in her bloodline.

The ones who have left us.....
Great Oaks Indie (December 2011- November 2019)
Joined our family on January 2012 She's a beautiful blue merle female with nice brown/copper color and is AKC registered. She has SO much personality and is hand signal trained to keep the neighbors cows off the fence :-) She's Jay's barn dog and keeps an eye on the everything when he's not around. She's had two beautiful litters when crossed with Rusty (February 2015 and September 2017). Indie was the original grand "dame" of Great Oaks - she was our first puppy raised on the farm and nothing got past her observant eye. She's missed by us all but especially Jay as she was his constant companion.

Elvis (May 2006 - May 6, 2018)
Elvis is our "senior citizens". He was born the week we moved to Great Oaks (May 2006) out of original dog Bandit (ASCA blue merle) and Sadie (ASCA red tri). He's the official porch dog that greets all the visitors and tags along with me whenever I cut the grass. He's old and has almost more gray than black but he will still chase a cow if he gets the chance. Elvis left the building just short of his 12th birthday and the farm is not the same without him.

Shiver (May 2006 - November 15, 2017)
He was the other brother out of Bandit and Sadie born in May 2006 - the week we oved to Great Oaks. He was a big almost solid black tri with the most gorgeous coat ever. He was also a porch dog and sat smack in front of the door with his paws crossed. He was gentle and kind and he's only been gone a day I miss him already.....
|
Rivers Edge Iris Colored Coco (June 2008 - May 14, 2017)
She was part of the deal we got on Russ - if we wanted him, we had to take his friend. And we are SO glad we did. She's a small little spunky blue merle born July 2008 and is also double registered ASCA and AKC. She's got the one blue eye and a beautiful coat. She's a smaller Aussie (not a mini but probably is close) - very petite but with lots of personality. She LOVES to sit right on your feet and be petted. Most affectionate dog we have had.... looks just like the first Aussie we got in 1994 (Bandit). CoCo passed away not long after her 2nd litter was born. She was an affectionate little girl and we will miss her.
